Keno was first played in two hundred BC by the Chinese military commander, Cheung Leung who used keno as a financial resource for his declining army. The city of Cheung was waging a war, and after a bit of time seemed to be looking at a country wide famine with the dramatic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung had to create a rapid response for the economic adversity and to create money for his forces. He, as it follows invented the game we now know as keno and it was a great success.

Keno was referred to as the White Pigeon Game, due to the fact that the winning numbers were broadcast by pigeons from bigger municipalities to the smaller villages. The lottery ‘Keno’ was brought to the US in the 19th century by Chinese newcomers who migrated to the United States to jobs. In those times, Keno used one hundred and twenty numbers.

Today, Keno is most often wagered on with eighty numbers in a majority of American land based casinos as well as online casinos. Keno is commonly liked today as a result of the laid back nature of gambling the game and the simple fact that there are no expertise required to play Keno. Despite the reality that the odds of winning are horrible, there is always the hope that you could hit quite big with little gambling investment.

Keno is played with eighty numbers with 20 numbers selected each round. Gamblers of Keno can pick from two to 10 numbers and gamble on them, whatever amount they are able to. The payout of Keno is dependent on the bets made and the matching of numbers.

Keno has grown in universal appeal in the US since the end of the 1800’s when the Chinese letters were replaced with more familiar, American numbers. Lotteries weren’t covered under the legalization of wagering in Nevada State in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos adjusted the name of the ‘Chinese lottery’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the idea that the numbers are horses and you are looking for your horses to come in. When a law passed that levied a tax on off track betting, Nevada casinos swiftly adjusted the name to ‘Keno’.
