Keno was created in two hundred BC by the Chinese military leader, Cheung Leung who used this game as a monetary resource for his declining army. The metropolis of Cheung was waging a war, and after some time appeared to be looking at a country wide shortage of food with the dramatic drop in supplies. Cheung Leung had to create a fast fix for the economic calamity and to create income for his army. He, as it follows created the game we know today as keno and it was a wonderful success.

Keno was known as the White Pigeon Game, since the winning numbers were delivered by pigeons from larger locations to the smaller villages. The lottery ‘Keno’ was brought to America in the 1800s by Chinese immigrants who headed to the United States to jobs. In those times, Keno used 120 numbers.

Today, Keno is generally bet on with just 80 numbers in a majority of American based casinos as well as web casinos. Keno is commonly enjoyed today because of the laid back nature of betting the game and the basic fact that there are little skills required to play Keno. Regardless of the reality that the chances of coming away with a win are appalling, there is constantly the hope that you could win quite large with very little gaming investment.

Keno is enjoyed with 80 numbers and 20 numbers are picked each game. Enthusiasts of Keno can pick from 2 to 10 numbers and wager on them, as much or as little as they are able to. The payout of Keno is according to the wagers made and the matching of numbers.

Keno grew in acceptance in the US near the end of the 19th century when the Chinese letters were changed with more familiar, US numbers. Lotteries weren’t covered under the legalization of wagering in the state of Nevada in Nineteen Thirty One. The casinos altered the name of the ‘Chinese lotto’ to ‘horse race keno’ employing the idea that the numbers are horses and you want your horses to come in. When the Nevada government passed a law that levied a tax on off track wagering, casinos quickly altered the name to ‘Keno’.
